Editor’s Choice Crenlo Adds Rolling Transit Case to Lineup of Emcor Enclosures Crenlo has made an addition to its Emcor line of enclosures, the Emcor Rolling Transit case. Made from a polycarbonate mold, the case is designed to withstand abuse in tough environments, while the two-stage telescoping extension handle and in-line wheels offer easy transportability of sensitive electronic equipment, all in a stylish package. The transit case can be purchased empty and used for carrying cables and cords, or it can be purchased with one of two polyurethane foam insert options including a cubed, layered option or a solid, layered option. The 0.5 by 0.5 by 1-inch rectangular cubes can be removed to create three-dimensional pockets for protecting equipment, while the solid option can be customized by cutting with a utility knife. With interior dimensions measuring 18.13 by 24.38 by 12 inches, the case is well suited for protecting small electronics, such as test and measurement instruments, medical devices, cameras, scopes, audio/video and broadcast equipment, and monitoring equipment. The exterior measures 21 by 28 by 13.5 inches, meeting airline regulations for checked baggage. With two molded-in padlock brackets, easy-open latches, EPDM gaskets and an automatic pressure relief valve, the Emcor Rolling Transit case is watertight, airtight and dustproof, meeting all applicable ASTM standards for water resistance, vibration resistance and resistance to damage from dropping. Meggitt Sensing Systems Introduces Endevco Triaxial Piezoresistive Shock Accelerometer Meggitt Sensing Systems has introduced the Endevco model 73 piezoresistive triaxial shock accelerometer, designed to provide high-reliability measurements in three orthogonal directions within a footprint measuring less than 0.2 square inches. The model 73 is intended for such critical applications as high-shock data recorders and weapon systems. Design of the model 73 incorporates use of three Endevco model 71 high-g piezoresistive shock accelerometers, housed on a specialty mounting block, with two available mounting options, either a surface mount technology (SMT) leadless chip carrier (LCC) package for reflow soldering with structural epoxy underfil, or a flex circuit option, allowing the unit to be adhesively mounted with electrical connections made via solder pads. Units are available in ranges of 2,000 g, 6,000 g, 20,000 g and 60,000 g with frequency response capabilities down to DC (steady state), making them well suited for the support of long duration transient measurements. In addition, these accelerometers offer minimal zero shift after shock and are undamped for broad frequency content and the prevention of phase shift.
