BY DAN MALOVANY n response to a slumping economy and continued consolidation within the domestic wholesale baking industry, the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) is making an effort to reach visitors from all corners of the earth. Unlike in past years, the IBIE 2010 Committee has put a major emphasis on boosting the number of international exhibitors and attendees by promoting the show at industry trade events throughout Latin America and Europe during the past few months. It's also reaching out to the foreign trade press and to I more than 40 associations outside the US to get the word out that the global baking industry will unite Sept. 26-29 in Las Vegas, NV. In addition, IBIE 2010 will feature seminars, educational programs and competitive baking and cake decorating events with an international flair that are designed to bolster the show's image by offering benefits for all types of bakers and suppliers to the industry.
