he iDAPT Centre for Rehabilitation Research is pushing global
boundaries. Under the leadership of Dr. Geoff Fernie P.Eng., Ph.D.,
iDAPT has successfully positioned itself as the number one rehabilitation
research centre in the world by fostering exceptional leaders in research
and creating a culture that combines opportunity, entrepreneurship and
innovation.

iDAPT's philosophy is all about producing practical solutions to reallife challenges through the development of new therapies and assistive
technologies, important advances in knowledge to inform clinical practice
and changes to policy and public opinion. iDAPT's work is maximizing
life for people living with disabling injury, illness or the effects of aging.
"iDAPT's research can really save lives in many ways. That is why
our research projects focus on finding practical solutions for common
problems," says Azadeh Yadollahi, P.Eng., Ph.D., a scientist with the
Toronto Rehabilitation Institute's iDAPT Centre.

Success in finding solutions at iDAPT is accelerated by its first-class
research environments. Housed within Toronto Rehab's University
Centre, one of five rehabilitation centres across Toronto, the research
facilities are home to the world's most technologically advanced labs,
as well as multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, industrial designers,
clinicians and social scientists working together under one roof.
