Stratas Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award
AHEPA recognized Brother Nick Stratas with the 2017 AHEPA
Lifetime Achievement Award at the 95th Annual AHEPA Family
Supreme Convention Grand Banquet, July 29. Stratas served as president of AHEPA National Housing Corporation (ANHC) from 1983 to
2008-09 and currently serves as its chairman of the board.
Instrumental in the AHEPA Senior Housing program's inception,
Stratas helped to start AHEPA 310 Apartments in Mobile, Ala.,
which opened in 1985. His group developed 14 elderly housing
properties throughout greater Mobile during his tenure as president
of AHEPA Mobile, Inc.
Stratas is awarded 2017 AHEPA Lifetime Achievement Award. (L-R) Charles

New Albany and Indianapolis
AALFs nearing 80% Completion
Construction is progressing well on the New Albany and Indianapolis
Affordable Assisted Living Facilities which are both projected be at 80%
completion by the fall. New Albany has started pre-leasing. Indianapolis
will begin pre-leasing soon. Both properties estimate completion of construction by mid-December.
At Hellenic Senior Living of New Albany (2632 Grant Line Road)
notable progress has been achieved in the West Wing, including completion of drywall installation, luxury vinyl tile, and brick installation.
In the East Wing, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing in-wall
rough-ins have been completed.
General Contractor Shiel Sexton reports that Hellenic Senior Living
of Indianapolis (8601 Shelby Street) is on schedule, with brick and
stone installation underway. The Exterior Insulation Finishing System
(EFIS) is completed on the North and West elevations and continues in
the other elevations. Sidewalk installation is beginning and asphalt is
completed on South Drive. PTAC and VTAC units are being installed in
dwelling units. Drywall in the West Wing is near completion as is drywall finishing of the East Wing. Flooring is being installed at dwelling
unit entries and bathrooms.
