pairs across interconnection reliability operating limit boundaries if such requirements are instituted. NYISO also envisions adding more PMU devices to further enhance monitoring and improve the data model by placing priority on internal
and external area ties, major generation clusters, wind, load
centers, key corridors, and FACTS devices. Both PJM and
NYISO have high-priority goals to connect its PMU network
with PMU networks in New England, the mid-Atlantic, the
Midwest, and Ontario, Canada, to create a broader situational
awareness throughout the eastern United States and Canada.

A Commitment to Data Quality
As synchrophasor deployment continues to proliferate
through standardizations such as DVP's substation standards

and PJM's generator interconnection requirements, organizations have started taking the steps necessary to operationalize
their investment by making synchrophasor data available not
only to real-time operations staff but to engineering teams for
offline data analysis. While the implications of data quality
vary based on the organization, the fidelity of the synchrophasor data is paramount for this technology to meet its potential.
For PJM, each member organization has a synchrophasor
footprint that may vary greatly in size and maturity. To this
effect, PJM has instituted a phasor data quality task force to
spearhead the initiative of reconciling the data quality issues
of its members. As part of the task force's work, PJM provides weekly metrics to its member TOs to facilitate troubleshooting of data quality issues. The task force also serves as
