Hi-Crush Buys Sand Mine In Permian Basin's Center
HOUSTON-Hi-Crush Partners LP reports it has entered an agreement to acquire
Permian Basin Sand Company LLC,
which owns a 1,226-acre fracturing sand
reserve containing 55 million tons of 100mesh sand.
Hi-Crush says the reserve is positioned
strategically in the heart of the Permian
Basin, within 75 miles of significant
Delaware and Midland basin activity.
Under the agreement, Hi-Crush will acquire Permian Basin Sand for total consideration of $275 million, of which $75
million may be paid in the form of newly
issued common units.
Hi-Crush indicates it plans to construct
an on-site processing plant capable of pro-

ducing 3 million tons a year. The company
estimates the production facility will cost
$45 million-$50 million to build, and will
enter service in the third or early fourth
quarter 2017.
"Our largest acquisition to date, the Permian Basin Sand purchase transforms HiCrush by establishing a presence in the
regional sand market, while supplementing
and amplifying our ability to deliver sand
at the lowest cost directly to the well site,"
says Robert E. Rasmus, Hi-Crush's chief
executive officer. "Location is critical, and
nobody will be closer or better positioned
to efficiently serve the Permian Basin."

WCS Allies With Drilbert To Teach Drilling Courses
HOUSTON-Well Control School has
formed an alliance with Drilbert Engineering to provide advanced technical drilling
operational training, WCS reports.
The school says the main courses delivered through the alliance will cover drilling
supervision and trouble-free drilling. Both
will be taught by John Mitchell and conducted at WCS training centers and inhouse training locations, the school adds.
The five-day drilling supervision course
blends interpersonal and technical skills to
help students understand their roles as su-

pervisors, WCS says, noting that the course
emphasizes professional behavior and
work ethics.
The three-day trouble-free drilling
course explains how to avoid downhole
problems such as stuck pipe during drilling
operations, WCS says. According to the
school, it summarizes the physics associated with downhole problems and explains
logical mitigation practices.

Five Point, Matador Ally To Form Midstream Firm
HOUSTON-Five Point Capital Partners
LLC and Matador Resources Co. have
formed San Mateo Midstream LLC to
own, operate and expand natural gas, crude
oil, and produced water midstream assets
in the Delaware Basin, including Matador's
midstream assets in Eddy County, N.M.,
and Loving County, Tx. The partners say
Matador's midstream team will continue
to operate those assets.
Five Point and some of its co-investors
will provide an initial cash consideration
of $176.4 million to the joint venture, the

partners say, adding that they have committed to spend an addition $150.0 million
in aggregate to expand the JV's midstream
operations and asset base.
David Capobianco, Five Point chief executive officer and managing partner, comments "the JV will build oil, natural gas
liquid, gas and water infrastructure to support
the needs of Matador, as our anchor customer,
as well as third party producers in the region
who seek infrastructure solutions."

AIRIS Gets Third Patent For Silica Dust Control
TULSA-AIRIS Wellsite Services has
received a third patent for its dust control
technology, which involves using targeted
vacuum technology at silica dust generation
points to eliminate the risk of respirable
crystalline silica exposure, AIRIS adds.
Chief Executive Officer Brendan Ryan,
states "we have demonstrated through repeated test results that we bring clients

below exposure limits defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration."
The company says the system is adaptable to all forms of proppant storage devices and site setups. AIRIS adds that the
associated equipment is elevated to eliminate trip hazards and visibility obstructions.

LAGCOE Tightens Focus
On Workforce Education
LAFAYETTE, LA.-LAGCOE, a nonprofit energy industry organization focused
on educational programs, says it has expanded its mission to reflect 62 years of
strategic growth.
"The oil and gas industry is familiar
with our biennial technical expositions and
conferences, but there is much more to
LAGCOE," says Executive Director Angela
Cring. "LAGCOE's mission is to cultivate
economic growth of the energy industry
by facilitating domestic and global business
development, and fostering the energy
workforce pipeline."
The organization notes it has several
programs to promote workforce development, including:
* The LAGCOE Education Fund, a
nonprofit that funds projects and programs
supporting educational efforts for or about
the energy industry;
* The Future Energy Professionals
program, which has provided five students
with $43,000 in college scholarships; and
* Young Professionals of LAGCOE,
a group offering career development and
networking opportunities to young professionals looking to become future industry
leaders.
LAGCOE adds that it has established
scholarships and endowed professorships
at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette
and South Louisiana Community College.

Buys Sucker Rod Installers
GAINESVILLE, TX.-Endurance Lift
Solutions LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Synergy Energy Holdings LLC, reports
it has agreed to purchase John Crane Production Solutions Inc. (JCPS) and CDI
Oilfield Services SRL, which comprise
the artificial lift business of John Crane
Group Ltd.
JCPS and CDI design, install, service
and repair fiberglass and steel sucker rods
and downhole rod pumps throughout North
America and Romania, Endurance describes.
The company says the acquisition gives it
the ability to design, manufacture, and
install fiberglass sucker rods, and expands
its network of pump shops, especially in
the Permian Basin.
