He has three helpful hints for fellow DPMs when it comes to making an impact in the profession: “What can we do together to actually make this happen?” Dr. Idiculla asked. “I want to make sure we (podiatrists) make an impact.” n • Get involved sooner rather than later. Dr. Idiculla credits APMA’s Young Physicians’ Program as one of the reasons he understands issues fellow podiatrists are experiencing across the country. Dr. Idiculla also has found it helpful to check in with APMA’s State Advocacy program staff prior to meetings with policymakers for talking points and general advice. • • Dr. Idiculla recommends talking to these stakeholders as you would to anyone else: Whether you talk about your children, local food, or the shoes on your feet, being able to relate and communicate effectively about your passions tends to make your interactions memorable. Resolutions Submission Deadlines for 2013 December 17, 2012 Non-emergency resolutions calling for the expenditure of more than $10,000 must be submitted by this date. January 16, 2013 Non-emergency resolutions calling for the expenditure of $1,000 to $9,999 must be submitted by this date. February 15, 2013 Non-emergency resolutions calling for the expenditure of less than $1,000 must be submitted by this date. March 18, 2013 Emergency resolutions must be submitted prior to 12 p.m. on this date. The Resolution Preparation Guidelines have been created to assist sponsors in the development of a resolution. The guidelines may be found at www.apma. org/hod/resolutionguidelines. The Resolution Financial Impact Form should accompany each resolution and is available at www.apma.org/hod/financialim pactform.
