what's new
Among such features are plugin
media couplings for electrics,
water and hydraulics. The cylinder
module can be changed in a
few easy steps. The vertical injection
unit can be conveniently
positioned on a support frame,
placed on the ground and
transported separately from the
machine if required. The material
is fed outside the mould area
so it cannot be contaminated
by granules. Hose guides optimise
hose routing and prevent
possible chafing marks.
New technology
enhances
performance
Bausano extruders
Italy-based extrusion machinery
manufacturer Bausano, has introduced
new technology on its
MD Plus and MD Nextmover twin
screw extruders. The machines,
designed among others for the
production of PVC pipes, feature
the company's Multidrive transmission
technology, a system
that reduces stress on the motor
shafts, gears and screws thanks to
the tightening torque strain being
distributed on two pairs of motors.
This design improves precision
while reducing energy use. It also
reduces the risk of failure caused
by excessive stress on mechanical
components and ensures a
longer average service life for the
machine. The motors are managed
by a single static frequency
converter, which ensures consistent,
synchronized rotation. The
machines are also equipped with
a Smart Energy System, in which
the barrel is heated by means of
an alternating electromagnetic
field: a faster and more efficient
method, improving performance
and reducing component wear
and energy consumption by up to
35%. Finally, the new Digital ExIneos
Styrolution and GER partner on production
near-virgin recycled ABS grades.
Caps - one possible application
for M·Vera GP1045
truder Control 4.0, with its capacitive
multitouch panoramic screen,
performs continuous screening of
the entire system by processing
reports and graphs in real time,
in order to easily and precisely
analyse extrusion parameters and
consumption at each stage of the
production cycle. The company
has also established a retrofit programme
for the new control.
The machines are also highly
suitable for the recycling of
PVC, enabling PVC waste to be
kept to a minimum and 'creating
a closed loop process that
converts a management cost
into a profit', said Alessandro
Ruotolo, Extrusion Test Manager
at Bausano.

Ineos Styrolution to
produce Terluran ECO
GP-22 in China
Styrenics producer Ineos Styrolution
is collaborating with GER, a
waste recycling enterprise based
in China's Jiangxi province, to produce
high-quality virgin-like ABS
grades with up to 70% recycled
content at commercial scale for
the Chinese market.
The collaboration will mean
shorter lead times and improved
supply stability for Ineos Styrolution's
customers in China. The
company will integrate GER's
post-consumer recycled electrical
and electronic waste into two
recycled ABS grades: Terluran
ECO GP-22 MR50 and Terluran
ECO GP-22 MR70, containing
50 and 70 percent of recycled
post-consumer waste respectively.
Both grades are now available
in commercial quantities
in standard black as a drop-in
solution for applications across a
wide range of industries including
household, electronics, packaging,
toys, sports and leisure.
Bio-Fed introduces
new M∙Vera grade
for medium stiffness
applications
Bio-Fed, a branch of Akro-Plastic
GmbH, has expanded its
portfolio of M·Vera biocompounds
with the launch of M·Vera
GP1045. Designed for injection
moulding applications,
the new grade contains close
to 100% renewable resources
and is home compostable.
It is particularly suitable for
applications requiring medium
stiffness (tensile modulus
2,000 MPa) and can therefore
be used for a wide range of
household articles, toys, packaging,
coffee capsules, etc.
The new material has been
approved for food contact applications
in the EU. The compounds
are easily processable
on conventional machines
All M·Vera materials can be
coloured individually - for example,
using the biopolymer-based
masterbatches produced by sister
company AF-Eco, which are
certified in accordance with EN
13432. The AF-Eco range comprises
colour and carbon black
masterbatches, as well as additive
masterbatches.
