The beautiful Red Lion Hotel on the
River - Jantzen Beach is where we'll be rollin'
for the 88th Far West Ski Association Convention, May 28-31, 2020. Situated on the scenic
Columbia River, the Red Lion Hotel on the
River is ready to welcome Far West Ski Association and friends. A friendly atmosphere,
newly renovated rooms, and a stunning riverfront await you in Portland next year, and
Northwest Ski Club Council is looking forward to being your guide to our fabulous
Northwest playground.
Room amenities include plush pillow top
mattresses, wireless internet access, work desk
and chair, alarm clock/radio, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, hotel service channel
and cable TV, and Eco-Friendly Bath Amenities. The Jantzen Beach Bar and Grill serves
some of the finest Northwest fare in Portland,
and JB's Night Club and Lounge provides
nighttime fun. There are more great dining
opportunities at the nearby Jantzen Beach
Center.

Once you arrive, the fun starts!
The adventures begin on Thursday, with
a bus tour of the historic Mt. Hood Loop.
We'll start with a visit to our famous Timberline Lodge, followed with a visit to the Mt.
Hood Community Center and Museum,
where you can take in the history of snowsports on Mt. Hood. We'll take you to Cooper
Spur, one of the original ski resorts on the
mountain, for a yummy lunch. Then, we'll
move on to Hood River, home of world-famous windsurfing, and finish with a stop at
Multnomah Falls, a stunning gorge waterfall
that's one of the most frequently photographed sites in Oregon. We'll get you home
in time for a nap before. . . .
. . . . Our famous Far West Pub Crawl!
Originating at this very hotel in 1997, you'll
hop on a bus for this 22nd Annual Pub Crawl
and head across the river to Washington,
where we'll begin our tour of the OTHER
Vancouver's best night spots. Yes, you get to visit
TWO states for the price of one!

Take a bus tour to Mt. Hood. Visit the
historic Timberline Lodge, have lunch
at Cooper Spur, stop at Hood River,
and view the famous Multnomah Falls.

Make sure you get plenty of sleep,
though, because, oh yes, there's so much more
to come. So much fun, so little time... This
year's Friday activities have something for everyone.

Memorial Golf Tournament
For the golfers (and sort-of-golfers) in the
group, we're celebrating the 14th Annual Michael German Memorial Golf Tournament.
This year, we're calling it the "Not Your Daddy's
Golf Tournament" because, well, you don't
really need to be a golfer to play. We'll be enjoying the 20-hole par 3 course at McMenamin's Edgefield, another Northwest landmark.
You'll walk this gorgeous property, host to a
brewpub, winery, distillery, historic hotel, glassblowers and more. And, since it's a par 3
course, you only need to carry 2 or 3 clubs
that we'll provide! We'll celebrate winners and
the not-so-winners at a lunch before busing
