advice to incoming freshmen
on how to navigate their way
through their first year of
college.

Keep your priorities straight
Your college experience will be
unique in a lot of ways, but there
have been many who have come
before you, and it's really helpful to
listen to and learn from their college
experiences.
For example, my dad told me
that while classes and studying
would be challenging, the biggest
challenge is managing all the distractions that are everywhere at college!
His advice was to have fun and
to work on both discovering my
interests and developing my talents
but to also remember my priorities
should always remain the same:
1.) my health, 2.) my classes and

sports, Greek life, relationships and
parties, to name just a few.
If these distractions affect either
your health or your studies (or both),
that should be a signal to you it's
time to re-evaluate your priorities
and make the changes necessary
to restore balance to your college
