CASSW 2021 was sponsored by both CASS and
CEDA. Fig. 1 shows the organization team of the 11th
CASSW and 3rd YPW.
CASSW 2021 had 10 invited technical talks, which
addressed modern topics like neural processing units,
approximate computing, FPGA technologies for space
applications and analog computing. We had speakers
from eight different countries. The event webpage
includes the abstract of all talks and a short CV of the
speakers [1]. Each talk had a slot of 60 minutes, where 50
minutes were dedicated to a technical explanation and
10 minutes to Q&A.
Further, the poster session included a 500-word
abstract and a 5-minute video describing the work.
Within each session, the video presentations were
sequentially streamed and, at
the session end,
the
authors were invited to participate in a Q&A session
with the audience and session chairs. We had 40
accepted posters which were divided into four sessions.

The IEEE CASSW 2021 edition received a total of
FOURTH QUARTER 2022
272 registered participants from 35 countries, with
the respective percentages detailed in Fig. 2(a). In
the participants' statistics in Fig. 2(b), 37.1% were
undergraduate students, 22.4% were professors, and
17.8% were Ph.D. Students, 9.9% Master students,
5.5% professionals from industry, and 1.8% Postdocs.
According to Fig. 2 (c-d), 44.5% of participants were
IEEE CASS members, and 16.5% were CEDA members.
This fully online CASSW 2021 edition also promoted
an increase of 7x in Instagram followers of the IEEE
CASS-RS profile (visit us in [3]), rising to more than
900. These lateral results help the advertisement of
other CASS-RS chapter (Region 9) activities, such as
the webinars [4-5]. On the first day, September 29th,
the program started with an Opening Session where
the general chairs, program chairs, and poster chairs
were introduced, followed by four talks (as shown
Fig. 3) and two poster sessions. On the second day,
September 30th, we also had four technical talks as
shown in Fig. 4, and two more poster sessions at the
end of the day.
On the last day, October 1st, we had two technical
talks in the morning, shown in Fig. 5, as well as a closing
