Top 50 E NG I N E E R S Chanelle Deshaun SMITH Married, 28 Quality Engineer, Component Assessment Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control Texas Explosive good looks describe this beauty who is working on the next generation of the infamous Patriot Missile, the PAC-3. This advanced weaponry employs a hit-to-kill capability and a fragmentation warhead. Chanelle analyzes test data for the missile components. She’s a stickler for following the rules so quality engineering is the perfect ﬁt. Exposed to engineering early through MESA programs, Chanelle experimented with ﬁxing radios and VCRs and discovered that electrical engineering was her pathway to success. Fitness First: Adjusting to the rigors of new parenthood, Chanelle and her husband, also an engineer, still ﬁnd time to work out together. They met at Morgan State and after graduation he was determined not to let his dream woman get away. He followed her to Texas and proposed on the Fourth of July. Doing Good: Chanelle volunteers through Lockheed Martin community initiatives at a local elementary school. Stats: B.S.
