LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Your Support Is Essential

ivot has been the theme for 2020, and I am proud of the way our Association has pivoted to continue serving members and providing the valuable
information, resources and networking opportunities we all need. COVID19 has affected everyone, and although it has created countless challenges, it has
also brought us together. We've weathered COVID-related disruptions together,
and I am grateful for the many ways we've been able to support each other.
We were all disappointed that we had to cancel our annual in-person meeting, but
#EssentialILMA was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came together to
produce the event, especially our sponsors. These critical industry partners stepped
up to the plate to show their commitment to our industry and our Association.
They trusted us to deliver a successful virtual meeting, and I'm happy to say we did.
I want to thank Ergon for sponsoring our keynote speaker and Infineum for
sponsoring the session on perspectives on the internal combustion engine's life
span. Penthol LLC sponsored our virtual booth and networking lounge, Afton
Chemical sponsored the speed networking, and Chevron Oronite was our virtual
platformÂ sponsor. Petro-Canada sponsored Base Camp Live, HollyFrontier was
the general/virtual booth sponsor, and Renkert sponsored registration. Please see
page 8 for a complete list of all of our generous sponsors. We are grateful for their
support, especially during these unprecedented times.
Historically, $50 of each meeting registration has gone to the ILMA Foundation to support research, education and the scholarship program. However, not
having in-person meetings, including ILMA Engage and our annual meeting, has
greatly affected contributions to the foundation. Donations are down, and we
need your support. Please consider visiting ilma.org to contribute to the foundation and support the critical work it does.
COVID-19 may be keeping us apart, but it can't stop us from coming together.
Hopefully, we'll be reconnecting with friends and colleagues face to face in 2021,
but until then, let's maintain connections within the ILMA community by
supporting the foundation, attending virtual events and taking advantage of the
learning opportunities ILMA continues to provide.
Also, don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call a colleague or shoot an email
to an old friend or new acquaintance. It was fun to connect virtually with so many
of our industry partners, but it shouldn't end there. It is more important than ever
to foster the relationships that are so valuable to supporting our Association, our
businesses and the industry.
ILMA currently has 344 members, and our 2020 retention rate was 99%. Our
membership renewal is coming up, and I encourage you take advantage of all
ILMA has to offer throughout 2021. Our membership is strong, our Board is
strong and we're going to get through this.
Thank you for your continued support of ILMA, and I hope to see you at
ILMA Engage, June 23-25, in Carlsbad, California.
