Later that day, attendees gathered en
masse to reconnect and enjoy an evening of
entertainment courtesy of Scotland's own
Red Hot Chilli Pipers, as well as a whisky
tasting and food and drink, which kept
spirits high.

Day Two
On the morning of 25 September, the
proceedings started as ISTAT President
Doug Runte, managing director and head
of aviation research, Deutsche Bank,
greeted attendees before yielding the
stage to the Economists Panel, during which Adam Pilarski, Ph.D., senior
vice president, AVITAS, Inc., observed:
"Right now,  aviation is a basket of puppies. It's all good, and we love it. Even
though there is some worry in the short
term, the future continues to be quite
bright," though he conceded that the
lack of new U.S.-based carriers was
somewhat troubling.

Next up, the Used Aircraft Marketing &
Remarketing Strategies Panel saw consensus among the panelists as Stephan Sayre,
global head of investment management,
DVB Bank, commented that everyone on
the stage shares "an obsessive focus on
assets." Shortly after, during a discussion
on what metrics the panelists use to gauge
future success in marketing used aircraft,
Robert Korn, president, Apollo Aviation
Group, noted that "skin in the game is
a lot less important than a track record
of success."
After a brief break for coffee and conversations, the Regional Aircraft Panel took
the stage, where Ross Mitchell, vice president of commercial operations, Bombardier
Commercial Aircraft, talked about scope
clauses and offered that "there aren't any
changes to scope clauses at the moment,
nor will there be any time soon."
The morning's final session, the Investors
Panel, gathered for a discussion that, while
focused on the industry's current buoyancy,
panelists cautioned against too rosy of an

outlook. "We should intentionally prepare
for downturn situations where the 'tourists' will pack up and leave," said Blair
Wallace, managing director, Och-Ziff Capital
Management, LLC.
With this panel's conclusion, lunch was
served, and attendees took advantage of
the time to connect with one another,
forging new connections and cementing
existing relationships.
Attendees reconvened for the afternoon's sessions as ISTAT International
Appraisers' Program Board of Governors
Chairman Elect Bryson Monteleone, marketing director, Tailwind Capital Partners,
Inc., and Phil Seymour, chairman, IBA

chairman, took the stage. The two offered
a brief look at developments on the horizon for the Appraisers' Program, with
Seymour commenting that "We want to
lift the mystery behind appraising, and
we recognize that the program needs
to change."

director, aircraft origination, remarketing & trading, Castlelake.

president, Bristol Associates, Inc.; Rich Gauvin, senior vice president,
asset management, Castlelake; Edward O'Byrne, chief investment officer,
AerCap; Joe Schreiner, executive vice president - technical, Aircastle; and
Ben Whelan, group resource director, Eirtech Aviation Services.

Lessor CEO Panel, moderated by Dómhnal Slattery, chief executive officer,
Avolon; Peter Barrett, chief executive officer, SMBC Aviation Capital; Alec Burger,
president and chief executive officer, GE Capital Aviation Services; John Plueger,
president and chief executive officer, Air Lease Corporation; Firoz Tarapore, chief
executive officer, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise; and Khanh Tran, chief executive
officer, Aviation Capital Group.

Investors Panel, moderated by Gerry Butler, managing director,
Merx Aviation Finance; Brian Healy, head of quantitative modeling,
