Advanced Burn Life Support Course

Approximately 45,000 people are hospitalized for burn injuries
each year and will benefit most from the knowledge gained in
the Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Provider Course. The
quality of care during the first hours after a burn injury has a
major impact on the long-term outcome; however, most initial
burn care is provided outside of the burn center environment.
Understanding the dynamics of ABLS is crucial to providing
the best possible outcome for the patient. The ABLS Provider
Course is designed to provide physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, firefighters, paramedics, and
EMTs with the ability to assess and stabilize patients with serious burns during the first critical hours following injury and to
identify those patients requiring transfer to a burn center. The
course is not designed to teach comprehensive burn care, but
rather to focus on the first 24 post-injury hours.

The Advanced Concepts in Critical Care review course was
prepared after teaching more than 180 " live " review courses
over the past 8 years. We have taken current practice guidelines, advanced certification exam objectives, and current
evidence-based practice content, from credible, published
sources and built the most up-to-date course on the market.
This course will not only prepare you to pass your advanced
certification exam but challenge even the most experienced
providers. We fully understand the importance of test-taking tips and core concepts related to these difficult exams.
However, we take the course even further and believe that
fully investing in your thought process, critical thinking, and
teaching you current practice, will build a solid foundation
that you can immediately apply to your patient care. This will
translate to a broader understanding of all subject matter and
ultimately strengthen your ability to answer the test questions
you are presented with.

EMS Supervisors'
Leadership Academy
ROB FARMER, BSM, EMT-P, FACPE; RYAN GREENBERG, MBA, FACPE,
NRP, EMD

This leadership academy, based on public safety leadership
curriculum and the NEMSMA Seven Pillars of EMS Officer
Competencies, provides aspiring and new supervisors with
several critical skills they need to perform in their new role.
The workshop is broken up into the Seven Pillars of EMS Officer Competencies-Supervisor Officer. The academy will cover
a wide array of leadership topics including communications
skills and techniques, conflict management, public speaking,
process improvement, and ethics. You will learn by doing and
hear how leaders from across the country have utilized different ways to solve problems.

Integrating Cradle-to-Grave Care
Through MIH-CP
RAYMOND P. MILLER, AAS, EMT-P; DARREN FORMAN, MIH PARAMEDIC;
LAURA M. SCHWAB-REESE, MA, PHD

Although MIH-CP has been practiced for many years, few
or no communities have a robust portfolio of services like
Montgomery County, Indiana. From a program that provides
prenatal and postpartum care to programs focused on older
adult fall prevention and chronic diseases, these award-winning programs support residents' health and wellness from
cradle to grave. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to
develop, implement, and eventually demonstrate the value
of MIH-CP programs in their communities. Following brief
overviews of the Montgomery County maternal and infant
wellness, opioid overdose response, vaccination, fall prevention, and chronic disease programs, attendees will reflect on
your current or proposed MIH-CP program(s) through a series
of guided activities. Roundtable discussions with representatives from a healthcare system, insurer, university researcher,
and the MIH-CP programs will provide further opportunities to
apply the tips, tricks, and lessons learned of the Montgomery
County MIH-CP programs and their partners. The workshop
will conclude with a discussion of sustainable MIH-CP business models and a facilitated panel with the individuals who
supported Montgomery County's success.
