Chapter 4-14 Passenger Special Plates Issued by Branch: National Guard: A. Definition: National Guard plates are issued to anyone who serves in the Massachusetts National Guard who has a rank equal to or higher than an E2 rating. An application for Massachusetts National Guard Plates must be completed and stamped by the National Guard. National Guard members are eligible for one set of plates for each vehicle registered. Plate number(s) 1-99 are assigned by the Massachusetts National Guard ALARS Maintains the plate number preceded by the code "NG". B. Plate Fee: The biennial plate fee is $100 ($60 registration & $40 special plate fee). C. Expiration Date: National Guard plates expire every two years, always in the odd year. D.
