CLIMB TIME

There will be plenty of opportunities
to get on the wall at Summer Market.
When you pack for Summer Market, be sure to toss your climbing
shoes in the bag. There will be more
opportunities than ever to hop on a
wall at and around the Show. On the
floor, the High Altitude Den elevates previous iterations of the core
climbing area of the Show with an
improved wall for demos, testing, and
showing off. Happenings here will run
the gamut from a mini Olympics to
universal belay certification (look for
sessions throughout this schedule).
After hours, head to The Spot's
brand-new bouldering gym location,
just a few blocks from the Colorado
Convention Center at 1235 Delaware
Street (thespotgym.com/denver).
Better yet, plan for some post-show
time at the largest climbing gym in North America, Earth Treks in Englewood,
Colorado (earthtreksclimbing.com/englewood). On Day 2, June 18, from 5 to 11
p.m., the gym will be hosting The Hang, an open competition for pros and pretenders with a $5,000 cash purse and tons of swag prizes. The event is free for
Summer Market badge holders (space is limited so register here: bit.ly/2HzwTzd).
Profits from the event will support local initiatives in Colorado and surrounding

A Centennial Confluence of Music
and Activism

Join the National Parks Conservation
Association in its 100th year, along with
indie-folk band The Infamous Flapjack
Affair, and other partners, for a musical
journey through national parks along
the Colorado River basin. This event
pairs live music with a condensed
screening of the new award-winning
documentary Confluence, followed by
a panel discussion with the filmmakers
and other key voices who tell the story
of people's connection to these fragile
landscapes.
OIA Industry Lunch: Working
Together to Advance Diversity,
Equity, and Inclusion in the
Outdoor Industry

Please join OIA and Camber Outdoors
for a discussion of the work being
done by many different participants
in the outdoor industry who share the
end goal of making the industry more
diverse, equitable, and inclusive. This

diversity goals requires collaboration,
skill sets, and leadership by many
