Students have the option to perform in the popular Fighting Colonels Marching Band. There’s also the Cadet Chorus, Dramateers, and Aviation program, where students can earn their private pilot license. MMA students also challenge themselves to master skills such as robotics, ﬁrst aid, ﬁlm and photography, bicycling, ﬁshing, and meditation. And to deepen their consideration for others, they’re required to perform at least one hour of community service a week. MMA is the ﬁrst school in Missouri to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and the only school in the country to offer it as a school-wide program. Nominees strive to better themselves in four categories: community service, physical ﬁtness, special skills, and adventurous journey. With such a comprehensive education, it’s no surprise that the most recent graduating class achieved 100 percent college acceptance and earned more than $3 million in scholarships. Founded in 1889, MMA is a military prep school that boards young men in grades six through 12 for education, development, and community. The school’s 360 Degree Education program gives students an enriching learning experience that extends beyond the classroom. Concentrating on the “whole person,” the curriculum emphasizes academic excellence, both physical and character development, personal motivation, and leadership. And there are a lot of choices, too.
