National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS)
will introduce a new electronic Crop Adjuster
Proficiency Program® (CAPP®) card beginning
January 1, 2023. Updates to the CAPP® website
are underway and NCIS is excited to announce
the transition from a physical card to a new digital
card. Upon renewal, each adjuster will receive
an email notification containing a link to
access their new card to view, print, or save to
their device. The electronic card will be similar
to the current CAPP® card with the addition of
" Accreditation Date " as a new field. The physical
card will no longer be printed and mailed
beginning with the upcoming renewal period.
In addition, new adjusters who successfully
complete their exams will be sent their new
electronic card within minutes to the email
address on file. Adjusters will no longer have
to wait for the new card to be queued, printed,
and mailed to them.
Electronic cards will allow CAPP® insurance
provider administrators immediate access to
view CAPP® cards and should eliminate the need
to contact adjusters to provide copies of their
new cards as proof of renewal. Furthermore,
all adjusters may access the on-demand card by
logging in to their CAPP® account if they need
a copy for state licensing purposes or misplaced
their printed PDF.
An active email account is required for the
delivery and access to the new card. NCIS encourages
personal emails when adjusters create
their CAPP® accounts since each adjuster owns
their account. A personal email address simplifies
forgotten login or password requests if the
adjuster changes companies or works for multiple
insurance providers. Adjusters may update
their email and phone number or change their
account password by typing www.ag-risk.org
into a browser, then choosing the CAPP® tile
and entering their login credentials. Click on
Account Information in the menu to update
personal information. Adjusters are encouraged
to verify the email address that is on file in
CAPP® and update it where necessary.
The new electronic card is the first of several
enhancements to the CAPP® website and will
offer a better solution for adjusters who need immediate
access to email or print a card. For questions,
