Kyle Gee, P.Tech.(Eng.), PMP, GSC

Kyle Gee wears many hats and carries many licenses. He's a
professional technologist with an engineering license (P.Tech
(Eng.)), a project management professional (PMP), and is gold
seal certified by the Canadian Construction Association.
With 20 years of experience in engineering, planning, procurement and construction, Kyle's work has covered projects around planning, land development, utility and transportation infrastructure.
Kyle's work has taken him all across Canada. He's managed road construction projects in Whitehorse, Yukon, underground drainage installations in Fort St. John, B.C., road
replacements across Alberta and dozens of other ventures.
Along with project management, he's also performed contract specification writing and asset management work.
His experience in the heavy civil industry stretches back to
2000, and he'd like to bring the two decades of experience
he's accumulated over to a Councillor position with ASET.

"Over the past 20 years, my career
has allowed me to work as a contractor,
municipal owner and engineering and
technology consultant," Kyle says. "My
national experience with engineering
and technology professionals has given
me a great deal of insight into why
ASET is strong."

"My experience has taught me that professional development and continuing education truly define outstanding
professionals," Kyle says. "By taking professional development to the next level within our membership, we will be
promoting all of ASET's strategic priorities while developing
some of the most exceptional technology professionals in
Canada."
Professional development means a number of things to
Kyle. To start, he holds that the association should help new
members to improve their employability. The association
can also build up members' longevity in their workplaces
by preparing them for future technological disruption. Kyle
knows that retired members have a large pool of knowledge
to share, as well.
ASET doesn't have to work alone to provide members with
career development growth. Kyle points to working alongside like-minded organizations as another avenue for both
improving and diversifying professional development.
With all of these tactics, Kyle believes that members can find
benefit in certification, both on a practical level and a communal one. More professional development options mean
higher employability and job security for ASET's members.
With these tools in hand, Kyle wants to help the association
develop even more, "as a national leader in technology by
showcasing ASET members as highly skilled and practically
educated professionals who are second to none."

To Kyle, much of this strength comes from the opportunities
the association provides for promoting professional development.
