Myrna Soto
Top Women in Technology
Carolyn Terry
SVP/Chief Information
and Infrastructure
Security Officer
Comcast Cable
Highly recognized as the
security expert in the
industry, Soto was named North East Information
Security Executive of the Year by ISE in 2013. She
is also a member of the FCC's Communications
Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council.
Soto joined Comcast in September of 2009. She
is the executive champion for the Hispanic Affi nity
group at Comcast called " Unidos. "
Toni Stubbs
VP, Technology
Engineering and
Operations
Cox Communications
Virginia
As a proud graduate of
the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Class 29,
Stubbs tells us she would love to see something
similar for up-and-coming women leaders that
" would be amazing for them personally, but
especially professionally. " When she's not advocating
for women in cable, Stubbs seeks to help
children in foster care and those in need. She
now sits on the WICT Virginia Board as well as the
Urban League of South Hampton Roads. Stubbs
and her two daughters share their home with one
cat and three dogs.
Manjula Talreja
VP, Global Cloud
Business Development
Cisco
One of the biggest stories
this year, according to
Talreja, is that cable companies
are offering broadband and value-added
services (such as video applications, and interactive
services like gaming and infotainment) on
top of DOCSIS 3.0 or PON fi ber platforms. The
25-year IT industry vet has spent the majority of
her career at Cisco, where her extensive experience
in general management, business strategy
consulting and operations of large scale IT
systems has helped guide the company through
many infl ection points.
Donna Thomas
VP, North American
Media Services
Technicolor
Thomas offers nearly
20 years of cable TV
leadership and experience
designing and executing strategic deals
for programming networks, operators and
broadband distributors. The former Ascent
Media exec leads the company's strategy to
develop products and services for today's connected
home. Recent releases include a media
server that supports multi-room, multi-device
connectivity, and a new software framework
to enable interoperability between devices and
apps within the smart home.
Aimee Viles
SVP, Emerging Media
Bravo
Viles has many areas
of expertise, including
mobile, interactive
TV, gaming, and other
emerging media initiatives. As such she has
been instrumental in driving multiplatform
growth at the network, which has made big
strides attracting and retaining audiences
across various screens and platforms. When
she's not busy creating more interactive media
opportunities for Bravo, Viles can be found
spending time outdoors - " rain or shine. "
Michelle Wilkins
Director, Information
Technology
HSN
Wilkins has overseen
a lot of firsts at HSN.
Under her leadership,
the network became the first television
retailer to use QR codes on air in 2011. In
2012, Wilkins led the charge to stream live
HSN video to Facebook. Her team also began
integrating Twitter feeds into live broadcasts
for the first time this year, and Wilkins also
revamped HSN's studio wireless capabilities.
Wendy Wilson
VP, Program
Management
Time Warner Cable
Prior to joining the
cable industry back in
2000, Wilson was the
director of community relations at another
powerhouse organization-the Washington
Redskins. Today her responsibilities at
TWC include overseeing HSD products and
programs, managing the development of
all customer-facing product offerings and
backend technologies, as well as handling
the product lifecycle from concept through
deployment. She has been a key contributor
to the growth and innovation of TWC's HSD
product suite. A successful career to Wilson
" is not really 'work,' but rather a fulfi lling
and gratifying experience in which I have
the ability to contribute to change in some
meaningful way. "
