Savant Unveils Full Ring X Line Integration with Pro App
SAVANT IS CONTINUING
its close partnership with
Ring with the announcement
that it has released full integration
with the Ring X Line
integration and its Savant
Pro App.
Just weeks after Ring X
was introduced at CES 2020
in Las Vegas, Savant became
the fi rst control company
to announce it would
integrate with the line. That
announcement set the stage
for the recent unveiling of
full integration.
Last year, Savant and
Ring, a division of Amazon,
announced a multiyear strategic
initiative, starting with
Ring X Line bundles available
to authorized integrators
via the Savant Store. Now,
with the release of daVinci
9.4, the company has
delivered unique features
and functionality designed
for professional installers to
bring enhanced security and
convenience for their clients.
Ring X Line is a line of
premium device bundles
designed specifi cally for
professional installers and
their clients. These include
a select Ring device of the
customer's choosing, as well
as a lifetime Ring Protect
Basic subscription (for the
useful lifetime of the device),
and a 3-year limited warranty
on the device.
Within the Savant ecosystem,
homeowners will
now have a seamless video
doorbell and camera experience
that includes a live
view of all Ring video within
the Savant Pro App, homeowner-created
notifi cations
based on camera activation,
recorded video clip playback,
plus two-way audio communications.
Integrators
can add value
for their residential clients
by custom-confi guring the
Savant system to react to a
Ring doorbell press or motion
events, pause entertainment
content in all zones,
and/or activate outdoor
lights.
Ring X Line hardware
is available on the Savant
Store, with full integration
available for systems
upgraded to daVinci 9.4 and
higher.
Dealers can deliver a
seamless video doorbell
and camera experience
for Ring users including
live view within the Savant
Pro App.
Pedersen Steps Down as CEO of Vivint Smart Home

Just prior to CE Pro press
time, the company announced
that it had appointed
David Bywater as Pedersen's
replacement. Bywater,
who will also join the board
of directors, brings 25+ years
of experience including serving
as CEO of Vivint Solar
and as COO of Vivint Smart
Home before that.
Pedersen founded Vivint
in 1999, and it has become
one of the largest residential
security and smart home
technology companies in
North America. Vivint is the
No. 2 company on the 2021
CE Pro 100 list, reporting
smart home revenues of
$1.26 billion in 2020 based
on 338,626 installations. The
company employs 10,000
people.
Among Pedersen's accolades
is being named an
Ernst and Young Entrepreneur
of the Year.
Todd Pedersen founded
Vivint as a security
provider in 1999. The company
has named David
Bywater as its new CEO.
