AHEPA Shines in Crete
With Greece in the midst of holding its national election campaign
and the parliament dissolved, the AHEPA family delegation
made the most of its visit to Greece with a trip to Crete.
At the special invitation of the Hellenic Armed Forces, the
delegation received a private tour and briefing that detailed the
military readiness of the Hellenic Air Force stationed at Souda
Bay, Crete.
Afterward, the delegation toured the U.S. Navy's installation
at NSA Souda Bay that included the airfield and received unprecedented
access.
The visit to Souda Bay concluded with a visit to the Hellenic
Navy's base where the delegation received a briefing and tour of
the Greek frigate, Navarino.
Supreme Treasurer E. Chris Kaitson represented Supreme
President Kokotas and exchanged gifts with the military officers
with who the delegation met.
The delegation did visit Athens where AHEPA made its mark
on the thought-leadership stage as Supreme President Kokotas
participated at the world renown Delphi Economic Forum VIII.
The annual conference gathers top leaders from across sectors
in an effort to spark dialogue, inspire change, and transform

conversation into action. Kokotas participated as a panelist
and spoke on the topic of Diaspora communities. At the forum,
Kokotas also had the opportunity to speak with U.S. Ambassador
to Greece George Tsunis.
Despite the election season, the delegation was able to meet
with Minister of Health Athanasios " Thanos " Plevris and Deputy
Minister of Culture & Sports Lefteris Avgenakis.
