District 14
James L. Karthan Chapter 192, Des Moines, Iowa
After a long pandemic hiatus, the chapter collaborated with Daughters of Penelope Chapter 30 to revive the annual Community Bingo
and Burgers Party on February 18, 2023. It was a successful event with a record crowd of nearly 100 people enjoying attending in
support of the District 14 Scholarship Fund. In January, the chapter hosted a successful annual Stifatho Night for Ahepans, prospective
future Ahepans, Zeus 38 Daughters, and spouses. Chefs John Miras and George Christ prepared a delicious meal. Thirty-five attendees
enjoyed a delightful evening of food and fellowship.

The brothers mourn the loss of Chapter
Board of Governor's Chairman Nick
Boutroucas. Brother Nick was a dedicated
member of the Order who contributed
to the many cultural and charitable
activities of the AHEPA and the Winnipeg
community. His strong lifelong work
ethic, dedication to family and community,
philoxenia, and positive attitude
extended to the AHEPA family with a
passion of commitment to philanthropy
and Hellenism.
District 26 donated $21,500 from the Fundraising Brick Program to the Greek Orthodox
Community of East Vancouver, with a total of $41,500 raised. GOCEV President Nick
Kasidoulis expressed gratitude to AHEPA for their efforts in uniting and supporting

Nick Kasidoulis, Fr. Timoleon Prattas, and District 26 Governor George Vassilas, PCP.
The district also presented Father Timoleon Prattas with an Epigonation of Panagia to
honor his promotion to the position of Economou. District 26 Lt. Gov. Nikolaou and
Gladstone Chapter CJ6 President Nick Mesotoptis made the presentation. In March, the
AHEPA District 26 Poker Tournament took place at the Hellenic Community Center of
Vancouver, marking its fourth successful year as a sold-out event.
