Kristen O'Bara recently joined
Hotel Depot Services as an interior
designer.

Guild 13 in partnership with Best Western International has developed
a new all extended stay concept for the brand's portfolio. A mockup of
the new concept, showcasing portions of a model guestroom and the
lobby public space, was unveiled at HI Connect Design and received
the honor of People's Choice Award "Vignette Most Likely to Make
Guests Want to Move in Permanently" and "Best New Prototype."

Bertolini Hospitality & Design
welcomes Reynold "REN" Texeira
as hospitality territory sales
manager, and Toni Hackett
and Nicole Sartor as business
developers.

Dawson Design Associates, Ltd.'s
London office hired Louise Parr as
the new managing director of its
London office. The Seattle office
explored their hometown on the
city's famous "Ride the Ducks" tour.

Kristyna Borden of HOK was
recently promoted to senior interior
designer.

Quinn and Pam Mayer announce
the engagement of their son,
Shawn Mayer and Karen Raffle.
Shawn is vice president of sales
at ENVEL and the wedding will be
later this summer.

Hubbardton Forge announces
the winner of a $10,000 prize in
the company's 2013 Design Photo
Contest, at an awards ceremony
held during the BDwest tradeshow
in San Diego: Bill Rooney Studio
was chosen for photography of a
16-foot custom lighting sculpture,
designed by Bill Rooney with
production assistance from
his associate Rob Veluz, and
manufactured by Hubbardton
Forge. The lighting piece is a
focal point at the new Marriott
Residence Inn in New York.

Carrie Nielsen, associate interior
designer for Group One Partners,
Inc., has been honored as part of
Boutique Design's ninth annual
'Boutique 18'-a yearly roster of
the magazine's top 18 on-the-rise
hospitality interior designers.

Jill Curtis has joined the Crypton
Companies as a director of
outreach for the Northwest and
Southeast regions of the U.S.

Ellen Armer of ELA Sales in
Colorado announces her various
manufacturer lines: Amisco
Contract, Astoria-Compass, B
Carpet, Cortina Leathers, Currey
& Company, Gloster Outdoor,
Imax Hospitality, Mario Contract
Lighting, Rosenbaum Fine Art,
Samelson-Chatelane, and
Woodard Outdoor Furniture.

RPW Design has completed
the renovation of Hilton
Rotterdam, bringing the interiors
of the 50-year-old modernist
architectural icon into the 21st
century.
The Dixie Group, Inc. has signed a
non-binding letter of intent to enter
into a joint venture with Desso
Holding BV, a Netherlands-based
company in conjunction with
Masland Contract, a division of the
Dixie Group. The intent is to build
a comprehensive floorcovering
offering for the hospitality market
in the U.S. and abroad.

Jim Lyons has joined Lynda Welte
and Blueprints for GREEN Design
to increase consulting and sales
efforts for Kimball Hospitality in the
DC market.
Degen & Degen just completed the
Residence Inn Seattle Downtown Lake Union, a full renovation of the
lobby, F&B spaces, fitness room,
and guest corridors. Challenged
with an eight-story atrium that
dominated the lobby, the design
aesthetic bridges the historic lake
union boating industry with the
booming influx of high tech and
biotech industries. The highlight: a
70-foot-long rope sculpture.

Linda Brecht is now director
of hospitality sales at Corona
Decor Co., leading business
development efforts for Corona's
custom soft goods workroom.
