It is Federal Aviation Administration PMA/STCapproved
for virtually any aircraft and is available with
pulse capability. Also according to the company, the
SunSpot 36-4000 product line offers a 15-by-15-degree
bright white beam angle that enhances ground visibility
and can be seen in the air from up to 30 miles away.
AeroLEDs said it has " made it their mission " to
produce brighter and more reliable lighting solutions
for all segments of the aerospace market. Improvements
to the top-rated products in recent years include
integrated pulse capability - including " wigwag "
functionality when multiple landing lights are installed
- a dual-function landing/taxi capability and sleek,
solid-state designs " that complement any aircraft. "
All AeroLEDs lights produce a bright white 6,500k
color temperature, are rated for over 30,000 hours of
continuous use and come with a five-year warranty.

Airtext
In-flight connectivity to the internet comes in two
basic flavors: satellite-based or terrestrial. Connectivity
provided by terrestrial infrastructure generally is less
expensive, but coverage is not universal. Meanwhile,
satellite-based systems offer excellent coverage, but
bandwidth may be at a premium, with implications for
accessing video content and exchanging large files.
Enter Airtext, which leverages the worldwide Iridium
satellite network and partners it with low-cost text-only
solutions, plus per-minute pricing on voice calls at the
high end of the product line. The company's Airtext+
transceiver is a light, small-footprint device offering an
alternative to all-you-can-eat internet access without
expensive installation costs. It can be a solution for
smaller business aircraft or deployed as supplemental
connectivity aboard larger ones. With worldwide
coverage, accessing the network is not an issue.
New from the company in 2023 is the HD Moving
Map, which Airtext said " provides both an interactive
experience and an automated presentation of real-time
air data directly from the flight deck. " In addition to the
moving map showing the aircraft's position, presented
information includes speed, outside air temperature and
altitude, plus time and distance to the destination. It
can be customized with company logos and passengerwelcome
information.
Also new from Airtext in 2023 is its Land-DAR, a
laser-based altimeter designed to help pilots accurately
gauge their height above a landing surface and,
hopefully, improve their landings. Targeting Part 23
airplanes benefiting from the FAA's non-required
safety-enhancing equipment policy, which simplifies
installation approvals, Land-DAR can make altitude
callouts from as high as 500 feet down to 5 feet above
the ground. The system consists of two components and
weighs only 14 ounces.

A smartphone app is available to manage it all.
During the 2023 AEA Convention, ALTO announced
expanding its Cadence cabin control product line by
introducing a new series of base receptacles for its
articulating tablet holders. The new base receptacles
offer single or dual USB charging ports and can be
configured without one to update aging bases or add
a new one. They also can be installed within a pocket
door or top-mounted, and the USB charging ports are
configurable. The company said the base receptacle's
design " allows an infinitely variable articulating PED
holder with several mounting and charging options. "
