Mike Reed, sales engineer for TIC, opened his
presentation by telling attendees, " I'm excited to tell
you we are now shipping our all-new SDR-OMNI allin-one
avionics flight line test set. The initial reaction to
this unit has been absolutely spectacular. Those who are
using it love its large and responsive color touchscreen,
they appreciate its intuitive ease of use, and its compact
and rugged form factor. It feels, and it acts, just like an
iPad or a tablet, and they also appreciate its two-year
calibration cycle. "
The " SDR " in the SDR-OMNI's name means it's a
software-defined radio. " Basically, omni means all and
we test everything. We test all your surveillance systems
- transponders, TCAS - your navigation systems, your
communication and emergency radio systems, and we
have troubleshooting tools for testing antennas and
testing cable integrity, " Reed continued.
The company said the SDR-OMNI test set " features
a highly readable and responsive color touchscreen for
quick and convenient avionics testing, especially for
FAA's required transponder, ADS-B and ELT tests. "
The unit produces " professionally formatted " reports
that can be downloaded via USB or wirelessly printed
locally. " The combination of hardware and software
can test virtually any RF signal from 200 kHz to 1.6
GHz. As the lightest ruggedized tester on the market,
the SDR-OMNI offers unmatched capability and ease of
use, " the company said.

Texas Aerospace Technologies
" Today, I'm pleased to announce the latest product
from our valued partner, LITEF. This product is a
solution for aircraft requiring advanced technologies.
The new LCR-110 is a GNSS-aided inertial reference
system, based on MEMS (micro-electromechanical
systems) accelerometers and fiber-optic gyros, "
Brad Sutphin, vice president at Texas Aerospace
Technologies, told attendees as he opened his
company's presentation at the AEA Convention.
LITEF said the LCR-110 is the ideal low-cost,
small-size, low-weight inertial reference system
for performance-based navigation. " The LCR-110
improves the robustness of the aircraft's performancebased
navigation capabilities eliminating the need
for a classical and expensive IRS. Its tightly coupled
IRS/GNSS hybridization enables aircraft autonomous
integrity monitoring enhancing navigation performance

LCR-110
Thanks to its " gyrocompass grade sensors and
AAIM, " LITEF said the LCR-110 " enables continuation
of even critical RNP approaches after loss of GNSS
data, helping the operator to reduce fuel consumption
and save time. The AAIM also ensures required
integrity of satellite-based navigation at low-level
flight operations in mountainous areas important for
helicopter special-mission operations.
" The LCR-110 offers outstanding reliability, which
results from its mature high-performance inertial
measurement unit. The calculated MTBF of the LCR110
with no forced cooling exceeds 25,000 hours, " the
company said.
Texas Aerospace Technologies was appointed a
distributor for Northrop Grumman LITEF GmbH
in 2022. In that partnership, Texas Aerospace
Technologies is responsible for aftermarket sales and
marketing of LITEF's line of attitude heading reference
systems and inertial reference systems worldwide and
will focus on STC development programs.
