Chapter 13-11 Competency Road Tests Results of a Competency Road Test continued License Restrictions Based on Competency Road Test J and P license restrictions are based on competency road tests. J Restriction - If a customer with an active license fails the road competency test and the recommendation of the road test examiner is no more testing, the Medical Affairs will issue a surrender request for the license. If a customer with an active license fails the competency road test, but the road test examiner requests further testing, the Medical Affairs will place a "J" restriction on the license. The "J" restriction in this case is defined as "To be accompanied by a licensed driver aged 21 years or more." The "J" restriction remains until the customer passes the test or fails the test without possibility of retake. P Restriction - The Medical Affairs may place a "P" restriction on a permit if a hospital or rehab program certifies that the customer is undergoing a Driving Evaluation Program OR a driving school confirms the customer is undergoing instruction. The "P" restriction remains until the customer passes the competency road test or fails the test without possibility of retake. If a customer has a "P" restriction, he/she cannot drive without the presence of a Certified Driving Instructor. 12/16 13:32
